State Senator Linda Holmes is proud to be endorsed by two major publications
AURORA, ILLINOIS – State Senator Linda Holmes has received the endorsement of both the Daily Herald and the Chicago Tribune in her race in the 42nd State Senate District. Both editorial boards note Senator Holmes’ commitment to meaningful reform in Springfield.
In their endorsement of Senator Holmes, the Daily Herald writes “Holmes has a solid record of working on behalf of her constituents and an equally good understanding of her district.”
The new 42nd District includes Aurora, North Aurora, Naperville, Montgomery, Boulder Hill, and Oswego Township. The boundaries of the 42nd District were altered following the 2010 census.
“Before redistricting, the size of the 42nd District had grown to over 300,000 people—one of the largest in the state,” Senator Holmes said. “The new district boundary allows me to focus on a more compact geographical area which will only enhance my ability to serve district well,” the Senator added.
The Chicago Tribune, in their endorsement of Senator Holmes, points out the Senators efforts to “end the corrupt legislative scholarship program.”
“Unfortunately, there were legislators who were abusing the system,” Holmes said. “That is something that we cannot tolerate.”
Senator Holmes has also led the efforts to reform the State’s antiquated accounting system and to eliminate boards and commissions that have not met regularly.
